Christie's film, Rated, took home another Jury Award at the Big Island Film Festival in May and also won the Audience Award for Best Short at Vero Beach Wine and Film Festival last weekend. Rated has been Officially Selected for over 12 festivals, 4 of them are Oscar Qualifying including the prestigious Short Shorts International in Japan. Rated, the film that Christie recently starred in that she co-wrote and produced with her husband, director/writer John Fortson has been officially selected to compete at the Oscar qualifying Athens International Film Festival and many other prestigious festivals as well. Christie plays Maggie, a wife and mother of 2, who must find the courage to own up to her behavior when she wakes up to find every adult has received a YELP-like star rating floating above their head. While most everyone has a shining 4 and 5 star rating, Maggie’s got only 2.5 stars. Christie was just offered a role in the Indie comedy Vikes, directed by Tenney Fairchild (A Good Humor Man). Christie will play Officer Jonsson, a “Fargo-esque” cop in this coming of age story.
